A paragraph is a group of sentences on a particular topic. The presentation should be complete and logical.

HOW TO WRITE A PARAGRAPH?

1. Sentences in a paragraph should be simple, short, and clear.
2. There should be a logical development of thought.
3. A paragraph must have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.
4. A paragraph must include all the given hints.
5. A paragraph must have a title.

Since my early childhood, with the help of my parents, I have developed the habit of reading different types of books and magazines. It helps me a lot to improve myself in every respect. Recently, I have finished reading the first part of Gulliver’s Travels written by Jonathan Swift. The first part includes Gulliver’s expedition to the land of the Lilliputs. It is a beautiful imaginary travel story. Besides, it is a satire on human nature. I am really eager to read the remaining three parts of the story. While reading, many a time I lost myself in the land of the Lilliputs. Its effect on me is amazing.

Life without any aim is just like a ship without its rudder. As we live on this earth for a very short time, our aim should be fixed at the beginning. Though none can control the future, future plans are still needed. I want to lead a straightforward life by becoming a teacher. Whether it will be in a school or a college, only the future will tell. I got my early inspiration from my father. I used to see him lead a simple life, but it was one of real honour and love. Moreover, the teaching profession provides one the scope to do something for others honestly. I think if I can become a teacher, it will bring me real satisfaction in every respect.

Our memory preserves different incidents, especially those which strike us in some way but ultimately teach us some lessons. In my childhood days, I used to tell lies now and then to hide some of my misdeeds. I never faced any serious consequence due to those lies for a long time. So, I became quite accustomed to telling lies casually. But one day that very habit brought real disaster for me. One of my lies brought tears to my father’s eyes. He had to face humiliation from our relatives because of my lies. I thought a lot, suffered a lot, and ultimately came out of that situation with a great lesson for the future — not to tell lies for mere fun or even casually. Probably, I shall never be able to forget that day in my life.

Human life is mostly sentimental in nature as human beings are gifted with the power of imagination. We need shelter, both physical and mental. A house provides us physical shelter. But from birth, when someone is brought up in a home, that very home becomes his or her mental and emotional shelter. So, for each and everyone, home provides pleasure and satisfaction. The area where we live is a village. The number of rooms in our house is sufficient. I live with my parents and sister. At mealtime, all of us sit together. During study time, we have our respective separate places. Our neighbours are also good and cooperative. Thus, for me, my home is a perfect temple of peace.

For everyone, there is always some work which gives him or her mental satisfaction during spare time. Those are called hobbies. I love gardening, so gardening is my favourite hobby. As a student, I have to spend most of my time reading and writing. After that, I always find some time for recreation. Gardening provides me that scope. I love to take care of the plants. I water them regularly. When the plants become full of flowers, it gives me heavenly bliss. Again, taking care of plants means doing something for nature. Living in an age of pollution, I get some mental peace as my activities are somehow helpful in bringing back normalcy to the ecosystem.

The cycle of seasons is one of the beauties of our earth. Six seasons give us six different feelings. Though the cycle is much disturbed because of pollution, I love winter the most. Winter normally covers part of December, January, and the first half of February. In this season, nature is decorated with beautiful flowers like dahlia, chrysanthemum, marigold, and many more. Different types of oranges are available. Christmas is a great event not only for Christians but also for people of other religions. Then comes Saraswati Puja, a great festival especially for the students. But the season is not so good for the poorest of the poor. They suffer a lot in winter.

An ideal man is one whom we can follow in life. He can inspire us positively to move forward. In Indian culture, a sense of morality is of the highest value. I have seen such a man with great moral values in my life. Though he is not a renowned person, he has shown me the path of life. He was my primary school teacher. He was a humble man living in a village. I never saw him beating or rebuking anyone. If we made any mistake, he would try to identify our faults with extreme patience and love. He taught us to rectify ourselves. I will never be able to forget his contribution to my life. He is my ideal forever.

In childhood, playing different kinds of games is helpful not only for building the body but also for developing a sense of unity among children. I have played many kinds of games. But above all, I love football. Football has a long history related to Indian soil. In pre-independence days, Indians played quality football against the British. Moreover, playing football demands the highest quality of physical fitness. So, a robust body combined with skill makes one suitable for the game. Besides playing football, I also watch the game. I regularly watch international football matches. The great speed of the game along with top-level skill inspires me in other fields of life as well.
